Double tops for Jaguar/Michelin in Rome

Mitch Evans steered his Michelin Pilot Sport EV-equipped Jaguar I-Type-5 to both wins at the 2022 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship’s double-header in Rome, Italy. Jean-Eric Vergne (DS Techeetah/Michelin) emerged from the weekend at the top of the provisional Drivers’ standings ahead of the Monaco E-Prix on April 30.

Porsche takes Mexico win with Michelin

Michelin and its longstanding partner Porsche claimed an assertive one-two finish in the 2022 Mexico City E-Prix as Pascal Wehrlein scored his maiden ABB FIA Formula E World Championship success ahead of team-mate André Lotterer.

Victoire de Mercedes/Michelin à Monaco

Au volant de sa Mercedes EQ Silver Arrow équipée de pneumatiques Michelin Pilot Sport EV, le Belge Stoffel Vandoorne a remporté l’e-Prix de Monaco 2022 devant le poleman Mitch Evans (Jaguar/Michelin) et le double champion Jean-Eric Vergne (DS Techeetah/Michelin).

Pour la seconde année consécutive, les monoplaces électriques de Formula E empruntaient le « grand » circuit de Monaco (3,337 km) avec ses virages mythiques - Sainte Dévote, le Casino, la Rascasse - ou encore le célèbre Tunnel.

Pour affronter ce circuit automobile légendaire, il faut des pneumatiques performants qui donnent suffisamment confiance aux pilotes pour effectuer des manœuvres de dépassement souvent audacieuses, et efficients pour leur permettre de gérer la quantité d’énergie jusqu’au drapeau à damier.

Grâce aux pneus Michelin Pilot Sport développés spécifiquement pour ces monoplaces, les 22 pilotes ont offert un superbe spectacle aux nombreux fans massés dans les tribunes monégasques.

Le Belge Stoffel Vandoorne a remporté l’épreuve devant Mitch Evans, parti en pole position et qui avait mené une bonne partie de la course, et Jean-Eric Vergne, qui venait de prendre son second « Attack Mode » quand le safety-car est entré en piste suite à un arrêt en piste du leader Pascal Wehrlein (TAG Heuer Porsche FE Team/Michelin).

Derrière le trio de tête, Robin Frjins (Envision Racing/Michelin) – qui a signé le meilleur tour en course - et Antonio Felix da Costa (DS Techeetah/Michelin) – parti en 10e position - complètent le top-5.

Le prochain meeting se déroulera à Berlin (14-15 mai), sur l’ancien aéroport de Tempelhof et son revêtement très abrasif, avec deux e-Prix au programme. Stoffel Vandoorne et Mercedes sont leaders provisoires des championnats.

MotoGP™: Quartararo on top again in Portugal and new records for Michelin

The Grande Prémio Tissot de Portugal, round five of the 2022 MotoGPTM World Championship, was dominated by Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) who claimed his first win of the season. The defending champ finished clear of Johann Zarco (Pramac Racing) and Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia Racing), while six different bikemakers filled the top six places, confirming the versatility of MICHELIN’s Power Slick range.

MotoGP™: Bastianini and Michelin master Austin

Sunday’s Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas (Round 4 of the 2022 MotoGPTM World Championship) was won by Enea Bastianini after another thriller at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, USA. The Gresini Racing rider was joined on the podium by Alex Rins (Team SUZUKI ECSTAR) and Jack Miller (Lenovo Ducati Team), while the exceptional grip delivered by the MICHELIN Power Slick range saw several records fall over the weekend.

MotoGP™: Aleix Espargaro and Aprilia claim landmark win in Argentina

Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia Racing) collected the first victory of his MotoGPTM career at Sunday’s Gran Premio Michelin® de la República Argentina, third round of the 2022 world championship. The shortened weekend in Termas de Rio Hondo saw him emerge as the 59th grand prix-winner on Michelin tires after beating Jorge Martin (Pramac Racing) and Alex Rins (Team SUZUKI ECSTAR). Once again, three different riders figured on the podium to showcase the versatility of the MICHELIN Power range.

MotoGP™: Oliveira masterclass in Mandalika rain

Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) took advantage of the grip provided by his MICHELIN Power Rain tires to produce a flawless run in wet conditions at the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia, round two of the MotoGPTM World Championship. He was joined on the podium by defending champ Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) and Johan Zarco (Pramac Racing) who made it three different bike-makers in the top-three.
